Karibu Tanzania and the Slow Experience!
The Hostel itself is a very nice place to sleep and spend some time in.
The restaurant is very well designed and the whole hostel has a very relaxing, pleasant atmosphere.
But most of all I would like to mention how awesome the two owners of the hostel were. I arrived there by myself and I wasn't sure, how I could an adequat covid-test to fly back to my homecountry. When the owners found out about my problem, they immediately offerd to help me, called the office of my airline with me and told me where I can visit them. In general they were very friendly, laid back and made me feel safe and welcome at their hostel. I can only recommend this place!
This is a great place to stay. The slow leopard hostel area is small but very well done with nice comfortable beds, air conditioning & lockers. They also had the best showers that I have had in Tanzania yet, super hot.
As the for place itself, it’s centred around the bar and restaurant area that has live music throughout the week. When we arrived this place was packed with locals & expats alike so if your looking for a lively place to stay then this place has you covered.
It’s located in the more affluent area of town where you can find nice cafes a cool bakery and all the other things you need as a traveller.
Had an amazing stay at the Slow Leopard Kilwa! The hostel is located right on a beautiful beach which means you can swim / snorkel less than a minute from your room. The food was outstanding - fresh fish and delicious sides every day. The day trips were also great - heading out on the boat to visit scenic areas and snorkeling, fishing and exploring the ruins were all well organised and really easy for us. The whole experience was great value, I'd definitely go back! It's really worth the trip.
