The Bar
Where it all began.... The Slow Leopard in Dar es Salaam has become a firm favourite amongst locals, expats and travellers looking for a casual watering hole, live sport and a fantastic burger. It’s one of the few bars in Dar you can walk into at any time and find a friendly face.
Opened in 2014, the bar is an open air space with lush tropical gardens and various seating options, from dining to lounging. There are big screens for catching the latest live sport, craft beer on tap, cold bottled beer, all your usual mixers, and some say Dar’s finest cup of coffee.
We regularly host live music, introducing new audiences to some of Tanzania’s finest musicians. When the music isn’t live, the bar pumps a mixture of lounge style Tropical House, Electronic, and Hip Hop beats, with the occasional customer request thrown in.

With two screens, a huge projector, and stadium seating, the Slow comes alive on Game Day. While football is often shown, the team is proud to support the local rugby club, the mighty Dar Leopards, and will always prioritise live rugby on the big screen!
The menu is kept simple, starring with an emphasis on gourmet burgers, fresh salads, and some tasty light bites. Our all- day breakfasts feature the finest eggs, homemade granola and fresh fruit. For those with an appetite but not the budget to match, our tasty hearty budget- friendly Slow cooked lunches are available daily. We are also making progress on the Vegetarian front!
